Performance Analysis - CPU Usage

CPU usage you say?...but I thought this was meant to be a graphics card review? Yes, and no. BioShock's developers have made a semi-big thing about it supporting and making use of dual core processors, so much so that a Core 2 Duo is on the 'recommended' specifications. We took a screenshot of the processor usage playing through the beginning of the demo until you start decending down into Rapture.

And for the 8800GTX.

Interesting results. The HD2900XT DX10 graph clearly shows less burden on the CPU due to the graphics bug. Whether this has a positive impact on the DX10 framerate overall is hard to tell, but we're all hoping for a patch to solve the bug in the first place. The rest of the graphs look fairly similar with no major differences. The major note is that the game is multithreaded - it's certainly working both cores!
